I have not had enough time to do the monthly post on what I am listening too, or caught my ear that is not hitting it big. Here is the April Music picks, its actually slim picking, only five songs, I hadnt had time to really discover anything or there probably was not anything that stood out. Whatever it was do start by reading this post "The Dichotomy of the Muslim Community: Some Hear Song, Others See it Sin" written by Dina B., and outlines my sentiment on Muslims and Music.
- Cage the Elephant should be credited as their song "Aint no rest for the Wicked" inspired the name for Aprils music blog. Matt and Brad Shultz, the brothers behind this Kentucky-bred garage-punk quintet, grew up in cramped confines with a pious dad who didn't like secular music and according to the Rolling Stone reviews the band "white-blues forebears and barks with abandon" on their CD.
- Kanye West- Heartless- was featured way back in January. The Fray's do an AMAZING rendition of the song, one I believe is far better then the original!.
- Continuing on the sin of listening to music, Depeche Mode's "The Sinner In Me"
- Finally, Cyndi Lauper "Time After Time".
